Originators of Swim Separates
Founded in 1982 in Jacksonville, Florida, VENUS' heritage is rooted in swimwear. Unconventional beginnings designing posing suits for bodybuilding competitors led our founders to sell bikini tops and bottoms separately to fit their unique measurements. Women who were not bodybuilders began buying VENUS suits, revealing that we were the only retailer whose swimwear allowed women to find their perfect fit. Customers could mix-and-match tops and bottoms to choose their most flattering pairing, making VENUS the originators of swim separates.

VENUS History
1980s
1982: Daryle Scott forms Titan Bodybuilding, Inc., selling posing suits for male bodybuilders. He eventually expands the assortment to include women's posing suits, introducing bikini tops and bottoms sold separately to fit the unique measurements of competitors. This is the first time swim separates are available on the market, allowing ALL women, not just bodybuilders, to create their perfect bikini.
1983: Workout apparel is added to the Titan line under the name VENUS Fashion.
Late 1980s: VENUS items were so popular, the team decides to drop Titan entirely and become VENUS Swimwear.
1990s
1999: Growing from magazine ads and catalogs, VENUS appears online as VenusSwimwear.com until 2006, and later Venus.com.
2000s
2004: VENUS begins its own apparel line with in-house buyers and designers.
2010: We first meet the Goddess bikini that instantly becomes our #1 seller when 40,000 bikinis are sold in 2010 alone!
Today
VENUS continues to grow with a wider product assortment, improvements to our building, an expanded social media presence and so much more.
