Director of Human Resources

Plans and carries out polices and programs relating to all phases of human resources by performing the following duties personally or in conjunction with other managers, supervisors and employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Recruits, interviews and selects (or assists) new hire candidates to fill vacant positions.
  • Develops employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Prepares, updates and maintains Employee Handbook.
  • Designs and develops employee benefit programs and negotiates with providers.
  • Manages and organizes the implementation of all employee benefit programs.
  • Oversees the payroll process ensuring accuracy.
  • Conducts wage and salary reviews to determine competitive pay and consistency throughout the organization.
  • Maintains records of insurance coverage, pension plans and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers and terminations.
  • Investigates accidents and prepares report of insurance carrier.
  • Manages the general liability, worker’s comp, property, umbrella, auto insurance coverages for the company.
  • Counsels employees with respect to personal and employment related issues and assists in their resolution.
  • Manages FMLA and other government programs.
  • Other tasks, duties and projects as requested.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Great Plains software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Good customer service skills to work with co-workers and vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university.
  • 7+ years related experience or a combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Physical Demands
  • Employee is required to hear and talk, frequently stand, walk and sit, ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Customer Service Representative

Answers inbound calls distributed by our automated call distribution (ACD) system. Keys orders, credits, notes, and other data into our Quick Order Processing (QOP) system. Makes outbound calls to customers, when needed.

Job Tasks:
  • Answers questions about product availability, product specifications, pricing, and other questions customers may have about items or orders.
  • Communicates with customers via phone and follows standard procedures for taking orders, catalog requests, catalog name removals, and other requests.
  • Resolves any problems customers had with their order, which includes but is not limited to making financial adjustments, re-shipping merchandise, and expediting an order.
  • Communicates problem resolution to customers and probes to ensure customer is satisfied with resolution.
  • Follows standard processes and procedures for referring an issue to support staff or other departments.
  • Adheres to work schedule, including any overtime that may be required.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
