Network Support Specialist - Jacksonville, FL
|
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
- Provide support for the LAN, servers & workstations, E-mail systems, and Internet
connectivity in a Microsoft TCP/IP environment
- Perform network maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting
- Perform workstation installation, planning, maintenance, and documentation
- Manage computer system backups
- Product research, recommendation, and installation of software, hardware, and supplemental
network components
- Monitor Helpdesk system for new requests
- Work with users to resolve workstation issues
- Install/configure/troubleshoot/fix local and network printers
- Provide support for telephones, telephone system and trunks
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and organize effectively in a fast paced
environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of Unix, Linux, MS IIS and MS SQL a plus
- Knowledge of Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport protocols
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems
- Knowledge of TCP/IP implementation, IP network addressing, and the Internet
- Knowledge of Microsoft AD
- Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- 2 years PC and network support experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office environment
- Travel as required
- Ability to safely use ladders and tools for running network wiring
